The draft is over and we all have our teams built so I was wondering what everyone's strategy was during the draft.
I missed out on my first pick so the CPU grabbed Albert Haynesworth for me. Not really who I wanted but I built my defense around him, running a 3-4 and loading up on defense was my draft strategy.
I grabbed LBs like Lance Briggs, Aaron Curry, Larry English, Barrett Ruud and AJ Hawk. At CB I got Charles Woodson, Kelvin Hayden and Dre Bly and at safety I got Antrel Rolle and Michael Mitchell.
I didn't really pay attention to DEs for some reason so I ended up with Glenn Dorsey and Ray Edwards. Alright I guess considering they're young, B POT guys but I'd prefer better guys there.
On offense I was hoping to get a top QB but they were off the shelf quick so I ended up with Trent Edwards.
My strategy offensively was to get a 2 back system that was a power/speed combo to go along with my defense. I got Brandon Jacobs and LeSean "Shady" McCoy to set up that combo. I was gonna get Knowshon Moreno but damn bling took him 1 pick before me lol.
At WR I missed out on the top level guys, but I filled up with pretty solid young guys at that spot. I got Hakeem Nicks, Brian Robiskie, Malcolm Floyd, David Clowney, Jordy Nelson and Limas Sweed. Plus I got Jermichael Finley at TE.
On the O-line I payed almost no attention to it. I missed 1 pick so the CPU got me LT Chad Clifton, who is my best o-lineman. After him, I have all 70-79 OVR o-lineman. I did get Phil Loadholt which was nice, since he's a solid young prospect at RT and one of the better run blockers in the game.
So how did your draft go?

My strategy was to get Patrick Willis with my first pick, and then start planning my league championship celebration party.
but seriously Im pumped about getting Willis. I wanted to have a strong secondary so I picked up Cortland Finnegan and Carlos Rogers at CB, and Bethea at FS
Mathis is my big pass-rusher, and then the rest of my D is younger 70-80 overall guys.
offensively, I missed out on QBs as well and ended up with Freeman, but I put together a good O line for him and got Vernon Davis, who should make for a good short-midrange target.

With the #3 pick, I knew I could get one of the top 3 RBs. I ended up getting my favourite, Dwill. With him in my backfield, I slept on the rest of my offense. On defense, I wanted a playmaker at every level, ended up with Tommie Harris, Brian Urlacher, and Michael Griffin as my top rated guys. After those 4 picks I started just going best player available, leaning more picks towards defense. I also made sure to pick up a big pass catching TE (Winslow) and a speedy WR (Lee Evans). I planned to sleep on a QB, but definitely waited too long. I have the dynamic duo of Pat White and Vince Young @ QB

My original plan was to grab a top QB and then two WR for my first 3 picks. I've never done an air it out team before so I thought it would be fun. But Brady was taken 1 pick before me and instead of getting a QB I grabbed Moss. Next pick I grabbed Reggie Wayne and then third pick I grabbed Cutler. So it got flipped around. After that I went all defense. Picked up Gamble and my hero Talib at CB. I got Marlin Jackson also, but I'm playing him at FS. (93 Zone). I got Porter as well so I have three A potential CBs so my depth there is awesome. I got Clay Mathews and Cushing at OLB ;D. Then Cooper at MLB. I kind of ignored my D-line. Overall I really like my team.

I had some ranks put out because I knew that by my pick (20... right before Fear Trocity, lol) that some good people would still be in. I had Kurt Warner at my number one pick but I saw Brady and snatched him up. Then I got Jones-Drew, and continued on from there... it was hard drafting some LB and DB but you can see all about that in my trade block thread.

I was quite confused when I saw AP still there at the 8th pick. So I took him, Then built a pretty good sort of young Offensive line with Mankins, Clady, and Ryan Harris. I also got P. Rivers as QB, Dwayne Bowe and some guy named Kevin Walter who i've never heard of at WR, which i'm pretty proud of. Although my offense is probably my strongest point. I got some low to high 80s speedy D lineman that are very capable. My CB's and Linebackers are not the biggest superstars, but I have faith that they will be enough. Especially with Karlos Dansby at the MLB position. The FS position is taken up by James Sanders which I think he has covered. So overall, pretty solid team. Might make up for my sometimes sloppy and new gameplay My strategy came when I saw AP still there, and me, being a Vikings fan couldn't resist. I went with the "Run or Die Tryin'." The first game I died tryin', but not by to much. AP also racked up 233 Rushing yards ;D

My strategy at the beginning of the draft was to take the best players available. I ended up getting harrison, a good 3-4 LB, Wilfork will be my stud DT, dawkins brings a lot to the table at safety as well. On offense i couldnt pass on Andre Johnson at WR, and was targetting a quick receiving HB and either Ryan or Eli at QB. I basically ended up building around those core players. A big factor on defense was speed, youth, and coverage ability. Overall Im really happy with how my draft went.

My strategy was to miss the draft and get about 4 players that were in my draft board. (said with lots of sarcasm)
Overall though I think my team came out OK, luckily, other than my QB. I got F Jones at HB and P Harvin at WR, and a really good secondary with Cromartie, Webb, so not all was lost. Im going to be starting B Potential Stephen McGee, a FA I picked up after the draft at QB, Ive been playing with him a bit in ranked matches and I do OK with him, hopefully he will hand the ball to Jones good enough. lol If not then I guess ill start Leftwich or Garcia.
I guess i'm going to be in the 'Run or Die Tryin' group, so we'll see how that goes.
Normally I would like to be have a Pocket QB and throw more than run.

My strategy was to get a very good offense and then build up my high pressure 3-4 D. I feel my offense is great with Brees, Jennings, Williams, Cooley, and Barber/McGahee. The only thing I didn't concentrate on was my O-line, which is pretty bad right now. My defense has a pretty solid core with Asante Samuel and Demeco Ryans being my standouts.
I'm hoping my offense will put me in the lead most of the time and allow my defense to play aggressive when the opponent is playing from behind.

My Draft plan was to get D first see who was best pick and go from there being in the middle of the picks i had D Ware as my #1 pick then Rashean Mathis and Nick Collins I felt like the defense was pretty solid to go ahead and look at offense...seeing Steven Jackson there it was a no brainer to me had to pick him up from there i was looking to just get some good Oline and build the rest of my D. I have 0 recievers that i know of and a TE from Wisconsin that i love having on the team Travis Beckum also i have a running QB Vick i hate running with QBs i have bad luck with it but i hope it all works out in the long run
